Facelift and Necklift
A facelift, or rhytidectomy lifts the drooping skin of the mid and lower face. The skin of the face and neck is a continuum. Therefore, a facelift and necklift are often performed together and to varying degrees. The face portion of the procedure corrects the jowels and marionette lines that develop around the jawline and mouth. The neck portion addresses the neck bands and extra skin of the “turkey neck.”
As with all elective surgery, good health and realistic expectations are prerequisites. A facelift is most commonly performed in the 40-70 age range to minimize the visible effects of aging. However, it can also help people of any age who have developed excess neck skin or jowling. Patients in poor health or who smoke are not good candidates for facelift.
A Team Approach
Dr. Graham contracts with one other surgeon who considers facelifting a specialty. At Graham Plastic Surgery we recognize you can’t be an expert in all fields of plastic surgery. As a result, Dr. Graham focuses his energies on breast, body, and rhinoplasty surgery. His accumulated knowledge and experience with these surgeries make him an expert. He is not an expert facelift surgeon, and is happy to contract with Dr. Stephen Evangelisti to offer this procedure. Click here to view Dr. Evangelisti’s website.
