Infini RF Microneedling
Lutronic Infini Microneedling Device with RFA (Radio Frequency Ablation) is the most advanced skin rejuvenation technology available. Unlike over the counter microneedling gadgets, the Infini device goes deeper and adds a powerful addition, Radio frequency Ablation (RFA). The addition of RFA technology allows target directed and controlled thermal injury to the dermis. As a result, the Infini microneedling device achieves the same superficial stimulatory effects to the skin as microneedling with an added deeper component. This deeper component, which affects the deep dermis, results in much greater skin remodeling as a result of more collagen and elastin production. Consequently, microneedling devices with RFA have become the standard of care throughout the world for treating facial and neck wrinkles/laxity, acne scarring, and even stretch marks. An added bonus to having your treatment at Graham Plastic Surgery is that we add PRO-NOX™ nitrous oxide therapy for pain and anxiety relief as well as a topical fibroblast booster complementary to each Infini RFA treatment.
Infini RF Microneedling Candidates
The Infini microneedling device is most effective for:
- People with early neck and jowl laxity who wish for nonsurgical tightening
- People with mild to moderate facial wrinkling and hyper pigmentation
- People with acne scarring, most specifically boxcar and rolling scars. Infini has become the”standard of care” for acne scarring in most major cities around the world.
- People with excessive sweating in the armpits (hyperhidrosis).
Infini RF Microneedling Procedure
The Infini Microneedling Device uses 49 insulated gold tipped micro needles to pierce the skin and target several layers of the dermis. Once the dermis is penetrated radio frequency energy is delivered to the tissue yielding small injuries below the skin. As the body heals these injuries blood flow is improved and there is collagen and elastin remodeling. This remodeling results in skin tightening and wrinkle and scar correction. Multiple depth levels ranging from 0.5 mm to 3.5 mm and multiple RFA energy settings can be specified based on desired effect. The device can be used with or without RFA depending on the desired result. Infini Microneedling treatment is typically performed as an in office procedure, but can also be performed during a surgery.
Infini RF Microneedling vs Laser or Chemical Peel Treatments
It’s all about complications and recovery time. Infini microneedling and aggressive CO2 laser treatments can essentially accomplish the same thing. They both are targeting the deeper dermis layer of skin, with the intent of stimulating collagen and elastin formation. The Infini microneedling device selectively targets this dermal layer of skin resulting in minimal injury to the superficial dermis and epidermis. On the contrary, CO2 laser treatments and the use of deep chemical peels are literally burning away the top layers of skin just to get down to the dermis. Consequently, recovery from laser and chemical resurfacing runs the risk of post procedure hyper- and hypo-pigmentation and also involves at least a week of home recovery caring for painful and weeping facial wounds. The Infini microneedling device with RFA spares this aggressive treatment of the more superficial layers of skin, as a result there is no post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation and recovery time is only 1-3 days, with the ability to put on makeup in 24 hours.
